Cymbalta Uses : Cymbalta is used to treat depression and anxiety. Generic name Duloxetine, affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with depression, it is also used to help relieve nerve pain in people with diabetes or ongoing pain due to medical conditions such as arthritis, chronic back pain, or fibromyalgia.

Cymbalta Adult Dose for Depression
Initial dose is 20 mg to 30 mg orally 2 times a day
Maintenance dose is 60 mg per day, either once a day or 30 mg twice a day.
Maximum dose can be 120 mg per day.

Cymbalta Adult Dose for Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Initial dose is 60 mg orally once a day
Maintenance dose is 60 to 120 mg orally once a day
Maximum dose not more than 120 mg a day.

Cymbalta Adult Dose for Pain, Neuropathic Pain, Chronic Pain.
Initial dose: 30 to 60 mg orally once a day
Maintenance dose: 60 mg orally once a day.

Cymbalta Adult Dose for Fibromyalgia
Initial dose is 30 mg orally once a day for at least 1 week
Maintenance dose can be 30 to 60 mg orally once a day.

 


Cymbalta Geriatric Dose for Generalized Anxiety
Initial dose is 30 mg orally once a day for at least 2 weeks
Maintenance dose can be 60 mg orally once a day
Maximum dose not more than 120 mg/day.

7 to 17 years
Initial dose is 30 mg orally once a day for at least 2 weeks
Maintenance dose can be 30 to 60 mg orally once a day
Maximum dose can be 120 mg/day.

Cymbalta Pediatric Dose for Fibromyalgia
13 years and older
Initial dose is 30 mg orally once a day for at least 1 week
Maintenance dose can be 30 to 60 mg orally once a day.


Cymbalta Side Effects (Duloxetine).
Common Cymbalta side effects may include:

→ Drowsiness.→ Increased sweating.
→ Nausea.
→ Constipation, loss of appetite.
→ Dry mouth.
→ Increased sweating.

Inform your doctor immediately if you have new or sudden changes in mood or behavior, including new or worse depression or anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, hostile, aggressive, restless, irritable, agitated,  more active or talkative, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself, or signs of an allergic reaction to Cymbalta like hives, difficult breathing, swelling in your face or throat, or a severe skin reaction fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash.
