Cyclobenzaprine Dosage
Cyclobenzaprine Adult Dose for Muscle Spasm
Immediate release
Initially 5 mg orally 3 times a day dose is suggested and can be increased to 10 mg orally 3 times a day depend on patient response and therapy duration can be up to 3 weeks.
Extended-release:
Initially 15 mg orally once a day dose is suggested and can be increased to 30 mg orally based on patient response. Therapy duration up to 3 weeks.
Cyclobenzaprine Geriatric Dose for Muscle Spasm
Immediate-release: Initial dose of 5 mg orally up to 3 times a day. Therapy duration Up to 3 weeks
Cyclobenzaprine Pediatric Dose for Muscle Spasm
Immediate-release: Initial dose of 5 mg orally 3 times a day, which can be increased to 10 mg orally 3 times a day based on individual patient response. Therapy duration up to 2 Weeks.
Cyclobenzaprine is not recommended for patients younger than 15 years.
Cyclobenzaprine side effects
Common cyclobenzaprine side effects may include
- Dry mouth.
- Drowsiness or Tiredness.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- Upset stomach, nausea, constipation.
Call your doctor if you have symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as agitation, hallucinations, fever, sweating, shivering, twitching, loss of coordination, fast heart rate, muscle stiffness, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea or allergy reaction such as hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips or tongue.
