Entresto
Entresto Uses : For heart failure in adults. This medicine helps lower the risk of needing to be hospitalized when symptoms get worse, and helps lower the risk of death from heart failure. It’s generic name Sacubitril/valsartan sold under brand name Entresto consists of the neprilysin inhibitor sacubitril and the angiotensin receptor blocker valsartan. The combination is sometimes described as an “angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor”. Entresto works by increasing the levels of certain proteins in the body that can dilate (widen) blood vessels and usually given together with other heart medications. Entresto is also used to treat heart failure in children who are at least 1 year old.

Pre-Caution : ENTRESTO is contraindicated with concomitant use of an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. If switching from an ACE inhibitor to ENTRESTO make sure to allow 36 hours between administration of the two drugs.
ENTRESTO Dose
For Adult Heart Failure : Starting with 49/51 mg orally twice-daily then double the dose of ENTRESTO after 2 to 4 weeks to the target maintenance dose of 97/103 mg twice daily, as tolerated by the patient.
Pediatric Heart Failure : For age one year and older with body weight up to 40KG, 1.6 mg/kg dose twice daily is recommended while for weight between 40 to 50KG, does is 24/26 mg and 49/51 mg for above 50KG. After 2 weeks the dose will be exactly doubled and on 6th week the final dose will be 3.1 mg/kg for body weight up to 40KG, 72mg if body weight is between 40 to 50KG and 97mg for above 50KG.

Get emergency medical help if you feel light-headed feeling, like you might pass, extreme tiredness, kidney problems like little or no urinating, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, slow heart rate, weak pulse, muscle weakness or allergic reactions like hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
WARNING
ENTRESTO can cause mild to life threatening situation, do not ignore if you fell low heart rate or feel like you might pass out. Patient must be monitored carefully, if unusually sleep behavior and tiredness is felt then stop taking the medication and contact Your health care provider.
